APPROVED CORRECTED MINUTES OF GENERAL SERVICES COMMITTEE
Item 1:
Recommends a US SAILING DIRECTORY be published and distributed
biannually as follows:
- Utilize same format as US SAILING DIRECTORY 2000;
- Distribute one free per member at 2002 Spring and Fall Meeting;
- Distribute one free per organizational member and individual
members who join at higher levels;
- Additional copies sent to members requesting DIRECTORY for a fee
that covers fulfillment costs (not to exceed $10).
Item 2:
Dues for Sailing Organizations: CSA to report and recommend dues
structure at Spring Meeting, 2002
Resolves to eliminate effective 2002, Footnote C, page 106 from US
SAILING DIRECTORY 2000 which states, "Any yacht club, sailing club,
one-design fleet, offshore fleet, or association may join US SAILING as
a new member, or renew after a five-year absence, for $75 per year for
two years." (this motion was approved by the Board of Directors
10/18/01).
Item 3:
Website Report
Item 4:
Supports $20,000 budget to send annual "state of US SAILING"
from the President to all current US SAILING members. The letter should
be mail-merged.
Item 5:
Endorses the insurance programs provided to US SAILING organizational
members by Myers-Briggs, Starkwether & Shepley, and Gowrie, Barden,
& Brett. Abstentions: Gene McCarthy, Glenn McCarthy.
Item 6:
Lawsuits against volunteers in the sport, deferred to Legal Committee.
