Again....it is hot!!!!  We can smell and see the haze of the fires in Big Sur.  The traditional morning San Francisco fog has not greeted us yet. 

 

After a morning briefing with the coaches, Harry Legum of Annapolis Sailing Fitness conducted a seminar for the girls.  Harry, by the way, is the coach of Terry Hutchinson and Anna Tunnicliffe. He spoke to the girls about the importance of fitness and nutrition.  Immediately following, they were off to their boats for a full day of clinics on the water.  The coaches ran the girls through numerous practice drills and reviewed the local conditions, especially the strong current.  The girls came off the water commenting about how much they had learned today.

 

The evening activities included a thorough de-brief with the coaching staff and a presentation by Carrie Cheadle, a sports psychology consultant.  She helped the girls make the connection between Harry's lecture and the girls' mental game, all combining to strengthen the whole athlete.  Following a Mexican buffet, the girls were paired off by boats in a Wii doubles tennis tournament.  The competition is fierce and will be continuing throughout the week, including a consolation round.  Winners will be posted here!
