Olympic/Paralympic Trials 2004

2.4 Meter Laser 49er Star Mistral
The Trials to select the members of the USA's 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Sailing Teams were conducted in late 2003 and early 2004.  Eighteen Olympian and five Paralympian sailors will compete for the USA in Athens this summer.  To find out more about the Trials, follow the links on this page.  For detailed information on the team members, as well as the competition in Greece, please click here.
Established in 1988 to develop athletes for Paralympic competition, the US Disabled Sailing Team annually recognizes the top-three ranked sailors in the two Paralympic disciplines -- 2.4 Metre and Sonar.  Sailing will be a full medal sport for the second time at the 2004 Paralympic Regatta, scheduled for late August, in Athens, Greece, following the conclusion of the 2004 Olympic Games.
Established following the 1984 Olympic Games, the US Sailing Team annually recognizes the top-five ranked athletes in each Olympic class. The 2004 US Sailing Team (top five) will be determined based on the 2004 US Olympic Team Trials - Sailing. In addition, if entries to the 2004 Olympic Qualification Regattas are limited, the 2004 US Sailing Team rankings will be used to determine the order of entry.
