Welcome to the Race Administration website. Race Administration represents
the interests of all racing sailors by bringing together the race
officers who run races, the judges and the technical experts who write
the racing rules and hear appeals. The Race Administration Committee
promotes communications among its constituent committees and
co-ordinates their activities to improve the quality of sailboat racing.
This site includes links and

The Harman Hawkins Trophy is US SAILING's award for excellence in race administration that is awarded yearly (the first award was presented at the 2005 Spring Meeting) to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the sport of sailing in the field of Race Administration (Judging, Umpires, Race Management, Appeals and Racing Rules). Ombudsman for Filing a Grievance or Appealing a Rule 69 Decision Do you have questions about the process for filing a grievance under Regulation 15 or an appeal of a rule 69 decision? An ombudsman is now available to help racing sailors understand what procedures o follow when filing a grievance or an appeal of a rule 69 decision. The ombudsman is Bob Lane. Anyone who has questions about the filing processes may contact Bob Lane. This position was created by the US SAILING Executive Committee to provide sailors with quick answers to their questions and to help them avoid the pitfalls associated with these processes.
