Growing up in Houston, TX, Charlotte has always loved playing sports and being active. She played many different sports growing up, including swimming, water polo, and soccer. Her family got into sailing down in Galveston Bay and Charlotte was hooked on it. At the age of 9, her parents signed her up for an overnight Learn to Sail camp at Houston Yacht Club. There, Charlotte learned how to sail the Opti and soon the Laser, competing regionally, nationally, and internationally. Charlotte was hooked on sailing.
At the age of 15, Charlotte joined the US Olympic Development Program designed to create a pipeline of Olympic hopefuls. She then competed internationally in the U19 class. In 2017 placed 3rd at the Open Youth World Championship in The Netherlands. Then ending her youth career with back-to-back gold medals at the 2017 and 2018 Youth Sailing World Championships in the ILCA 6.
After high school, Charlotte pursued academic and college sailing at Jacksonville University in Florida. She finished in the top 3 each year at the ICSA Women’s Singlehanded National Championship and finished 1st consecutively in her last two years of college. She was also an A-Division skipper for the school’s women’s team, obtaining an All-American Title at the end of her senior year. Charlotte was also the captain of the team during her senior year. She graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology in May 2022.
Since graduating, Charlotte has been pursuing her Olympic Dream full-time. Based in Houston, she travels and trains around the world, putting in many hours on and off the water into campaigning for Paris 2024 in the ILCA 6.
