BRISTOL, R.I. (August 27, 2021) – US Sailing announces important updates to the Athlete Selection Process for the 2021 Youth Sailing World Championships, hosted in Al-Mussanah, Oman on December 11-18. The US Sailing selection process has been updated to a resume selection for the International 420, iQFoil, and Formula Kite events. Applying youth sailors, ages 13 to 18, have until September 1, 2021 to submit their resumes for consideration.

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (August 22, 2021) – The stage was set for a Super Sunday showdown in the Finals at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship, hosted by the San Diego Yacht Club.
Talented young sailors embraced the San Francisco Bay’s challenging conditions over three days of racing last weekend at West Marine US Open Sailing San Francisco. Sunday’s final showdown on San Francisco Bay featured another incredible display of speed and modern sailing technology with highly skilled and determined athletes representing four classes.
The 104 young sailors representing their home yacht clubs and local sailing organizations from around the nation raced in a highly competitive youth sailing regatta this week in Marblehead. The 2021 Chubb U.S. Junior Sailing Championships, US Sailing’s oldest and most historic National Championship, for the Sears Cup, Bemis Trophy, and Smythe Trophy, completed two exciting days of racing just outside of Marblehead Harbor under challenging conditions.
The West Marine US Open Sailing Series enters the sixth and final event of the 2021 circuit in spectacular San Francisco, a premiere global sailing destination, as sailors from around the nation will come together for three days of racing in five classes. The next and final event on the 2021 schedule is San Francisco on August 13-15, 2021. The competing men and women sailor athletes will be racing in the ILCA 6, ILCA 4, International 420, Formula Kite, and iQFoil in San Francisco Bay this week.
The Eastern Yacht Club, located in a North Shore coastal community town of Marblehead, Massachusetts, will host US Sailing’s oldest and most historic National Championship this week. Top young athletes from around the nation have been invited to Marblehead for this week’s 2021 Chubb U.S. Junior Sailing Championships. This US Sailing National Championship features three days of racing for the historic Sears Cup, Bemis Trophy, and Smythe Trophy this Wednesday, August 11 through Friday, August 13.
Hosted by Camp Sea Gull (Arapahoe, N.C.), the 2021 U.S. Youth Sailing Championships will take place on October 8-11. To compete against the best youth sailors in the country for US Sailing’s most prestigious youth sailing championship, top U.S. youth sailors are encouraged to apply for the event by submitting their best regatta finishes and training plan to US Sailing. The application deadline has been extended to Saturday, August 21, 2021.
