Molly Vandemoer Appointed to US Sailing Board of Directors
BRISTOL, R.I. (December 18, 2024) – US Sailing is pleased to announce the appointment of Olympian and accomplished sailing professional Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer to the Board of Directors, filling the seat previously held by Henry Brauer. Vandemoer’s extensive experience in competitive sailing, coaching, and youth development positions her to make a significant impact on the governance and strategic direction of the organization.

Vandemoer, a 2012 Olympian in Women’s Match Racing, was a member of the US Sailing Team for over a decade (2002-2015). Her achievements include being a 2-time World Champion, High School National Champion, College National Champion, and All-American. As the Executive Director of the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation (PYSF) since 2012, Vandemoer has been instrumental in shaping a thriving youth sailing program in Redwood City, CA.
A lifelong advocate for the sport, Vandemoer serves on the C420 Class Board and US Sailing’s Sailor Athlete Council, where she amplifies the voices of sailors nationwide. Her commitment to athlete development, community engagement, and inclusivity aligns seamlessly with US Sailing’s mission to strengthen and grow the sport.

Molly Vandemoer resides in Half Moon Bay, CA, with her husband John and their two children. She continues to compete in match racing events and remains dedicated to introducing young sailors to the lifelong joys of sailing.
