US Sailing Announces Partnership with Zim Sailing

BRISTOL, R.I. (March 18, 2019) – US Sailing is proud to announce a partnership with Zim Sailing (Zim). As an Official Sponsor of US Sailing, Zim will support US Sailing’s conferences nationwide and two of US Sailing’s National Championships.

Zim provides one-design sailboats, parts, accessories, and services to the North American market. Zim manages their business and manufactures many of their boats and boat parts at their headquarters just up the road from US Sailing’s offices in Bristol, R.I.

This partnership will allow Zim and US Sailing to work together in an effort to foster the growth of the sport of sailing. “Through their partnership with our organization and events, Zim Sailing offers a great product line of boats and equipment with resources directly to these athletes and members of US Sailing,” said Jack Gierhart, CEO of US Sailing. “We are grateful for their ongoing support of US Sailing and their commitment to developing the sport.”

Zim has a long history of supporting US Sailing events at all levels. They will continue to support the organization as a National Sponsor and Official Charter Provider for the 2019 U.S. Junior Women’s Doublehanded Championship and the 2019 Chubb U.S. Junior Sailing Championships.

“Zim Sailing is pleased to continue our strong relationship with US Sailing,” said Steve Perry, President of Zim Sailing.  “A lot goes into getting 20 C420 sailboats to a number of events, but it gives us a great opportunity to support our nation’s future champions! We also attend most of US Sailing’s Symposiums for coaches and program directors, enabling us to maintain close contact with the folks that are developing new sailors.”

Through this partnership, Zim will continue to have a strong presence at US Sailing events. Zim was a Gold Level Sponsor at US Sailing’s 2019 National Sailing Programs Symposium (NSPS) held in Jacksonville, Fla. last February and will be a Silver Level Sponsor at the 2020 Sailing Leadership Forum in San Diego, Calif. next February. The company also supports US Sailing’s Regional Symposiums organized by yacht clubs and sailing centers around the country.
