Roble and Wilson Remain Number One Match Racers in U.S.
Stephanie Roble (East Troy, WI) and her Epic Racing team hold onto the number one spot among U.S. women match racers, and number five in the world, on the strength of winning the 2013 Stena Match Cup Sweden Trophy and finishing second at the 2013 U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship. Jumping to number two is Nicole Breault (San Francisco, CA) on the strength of her finishes at the 2013 Oakcliff Clinegatta and New York Women’s Invitational, and moving to fourth is Sandy Hayes (Scituate, MA) who finished fourth at both the 2013 ISAF Nations Cup Grand Finale and the U.S. Women’s Match Racing Championship.
Don Wilson (Chicago, IL) remains the number one Open U.S. match racer, sailing from the Chicago Match Race Center (CMRC), who finished the year strong by winning the Carlos Aguilar Grade 2 Match Race in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In second is Chris Poole (Portland, Maine) and his Riptide Racing Team, on his two wins at the Oakcliff Sailing Spring and Summer Invitationals. In third is Dustin Durant (Long Beach, CA) with two wins in the California Dreamin’ Series and a fourth at the Ficker Cup. Rounding out the top five are David Storrs (Southport, CT) on his win of the Oakcliff June Invitational and fifth place finish in the CMRC Grade 2, and David Niemann (Madison, WI) on his win of the ABC Qualifier to the 2014 U.S. Open Match Racing Championship and a second at the 2013 York Cup.
