US Sailing Announces Selection Process for 2018 Nations Cup, Women’s Division Qualifier

The deadline to apply is October 31, 2017.

BRISTOL, R.I. (October 11, 2017) – The Nations Cup is an international match racing championship run by World Sailing. Some of the biggest names in the sport have won or competed in the Nations Cup. World Sailing has announced that the 2018 Nations Cup Grand Final will be hosted by the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco, October 10-14, 2018, in their J/22’s. There is an Open and a Women’s Division.

The top finishing eligible skipper (or skippers, depending on the Nations Cup rules) at the 2017 U.S. Match Racing Championship on October 13-15 will be selected to represent the United States in the Open Division of the 2018 Nations Cup Regional Qualifier (date and location to be determined).

Women skippers interested in being selected to represent the U.S. at the Nations Cup Qualifier are encouraged to apply. Selection will be based on match racing resume. Skippers must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and members of US Sailing to be eligible to compete.
