About J/80 North American Class
The international J/80 class has over 1600 boats which are safe and offshore capable. Fun, fast, and able to get up on plane downwind with a huge asymmetrical spinnaker on a retractable sprit the class has large local fleets in New England, the Chesapeake, Toronto, and in Austin Texas. The OD rules specify a max crew weight of 770 lbs however the boat can be singlehanded for day sailing. Trailerable, the boat is set up with a single point lift that make it easy to hoist.
